Organising a dialogue is an excellent way to participate in the anti-racism campaign

The ‘Action, not only words’ campaign launched by the Government challenges actors to take concrete action against racism, and organising a dialogue is an excellent way to respond to the challenge.

The anti-racism campaign focuses on dismantling structural racism and challenges companies, communities and other actors to take concrete action to combat racism in our society. The ‘Action, not only words’ campaign recognises that eradicating racism is everyone’s responsibility. This means we can and must talk about it more in our various communities.

Learn more and join the campaign’s umbrella commitment in the Sustainable Development Commission’s Commitment2050 online service. The commitment includes a number of concrete proposals for measures to combat racism and promote equality both within organisations and in relation to customers and stakeholders. Organising a dialogue that increases interaction and mutual understanding between people is one of the ways your community can get involved.

The campaign website www.toimirasismiavastaan.fi provides an up-to-date list of participating organisations, instructions on how to participate and materials for organisations that want to get involved.

Long-term cooperation

The National Dialogue series and the anti-racism campaign will be working together throughout the term of Prime Minister Petteri Orpo’s Government. In practice, this means we will update the materials below to correspond to the theme of each ongoing round of dialogues. The theme of the dialogues changes every six months. In autumn 2024, the theme is “What brings us together?”.

How to get involved

Sign up to organise a dialogue using this link (please provide the time, place and a more detailed title if you have one), then make the practical arrangements for your dialogue. We have put together a package of materials you can use, and you can also participate in free induction training if necessary.
